Adeline Cassier is a French freelance photographer and TV producer, based in Beijing, China.
She graduated in Chinese Language and Civilization, and is fluent is both written and spoken Mandarin, which provides her with an acute understanding of the Chinese society, and direct access to its people.
Travelling to China since 1995, Adeline Cassier has been working for over 6 years in China : after 4 years as a TV news producer for the French channel France 2 Beijing bureau, she is now independent and continues to cover major features and news stories across China. She is a regular contributor to French in-depth magazine Monde Chinois, and has worked for other newspapers and magazines such as ChinePlus, Le Journal Du Dimanche, etc.
As 2010 marked the 100th anniversary of the "Yunnan-Vietnam Railway", Adeline Cassier went on to capture present-day pictures of it that gave rise to the Regards Croisés exhibition as part of the sino-french Croisements 2010 cultural festival in Kunming's Yunnan provincial Museum in May 2010, which were also exhibited at the Dali International Photography Festival 2010 in August 2010, and at Beijing's French Cultural Centre in November 2010.
Adeline Cassier also maintains the photoblog Chinopsis, which was voted number 1 blog by the French ELLE magazine's "Top women's blogs of 2010".
